Welcome to the official Callus page (Thanks to SCTW for the great screenshots and comments, and ZD for the download links). Callus is a Capcom Arcade Emulator released in 1998, programmed by Icer Addis (Smegma, Sardu). It runs many of the classic games that inspired Bloodlust Software (Final Fight, Street Fighter 2). You will most likely need a vga mode program to run Callus, but it is well worth it (the readme file tells you where to find what you need.) The ROMs for these games are illegal unless you own the original arcade board, and none of us ever does anything illegal, right? Don't ask me for any ROMs, I don't have any for you, most likely I'll give you a barbwire enema instead.

'For an oldie, this game sure rocks! 1941 is a vertical scrolling game. You have to shoot down a bunch of planes to reach an 'end of stage' boss, and after you beat him, you proceeed to the next level.'

3 Wonders

My momma always told me to stay away from people who wander around at midnight.

Don't Pull this cutesy crap on me. I'd select my favorite game, but I don't see Monkey Island around anywhere.

Captain Commando

The Captain whacks his Wooky.

'This is one of the most unique side-scrolling brawlers around. I love Mack the Knife (may have a different name in this version) - a homicidal mummy. You can also use a baby in a giant mechanical war-machine. Sweet..'

Carrier Air Wing

That background is an artist's worst nightmare. Kudos to the guy who did it.

'This is a pretty good fast action 2d side scrolling airplane shoot-em-up (WOW!). It has good graphics (for it's time), a decent variety of weapones, a multitude of bosses & enemies and good backgrounds.'

Cadillacs & Dinosaurs

Hi Blade...meet Shotgun.

Muahaha. Is it me or do those fat guys look horny?

'Although the story for this game is pretty lame, the actual game is pretty awesome. It's a 2D side scrolling beat'em - up. It has some cool weaponslike a shotgun, hand-gun, barrels, knives etc. The shotgun and hand-gun provide some good for some good animated violence with blood (as shown in pic).'

Final Fight

Beat that 80s rocker reject!

Does Hagar realize that's illegal in some states?

'This game was a true inspiration to the early days of Bloodlust. You could pick from 2 generic fighters and of course the legendary Hagar, and proceed to beat the hell out of people, doors, and cars (Oh, my car! *cry*). Picking someone up and slamming them into the ground with Hagar's spinning pile driver is one of the most satisfying things ever put into a game. The cracks and pashes of the game are perfect, the connection of the hits is perfect, the cheesy acting is perfect. Without Final Fight, there probably never would have been an Executioners.'

Knights of the Round

The evil Capcom barrels strike again!

Big guys carrying bigger weapons in one hand. Testosterone hooooo!

BENT'S COMMENTS:
'Knights of the Round what? I'd like to buy a table, Alex. This game is a pretty solid side-scroller. It gets a little repetitive, but you keep playing to see the huge bosses and to watch each step as your knight gets more armor/better weapons. '

Magic Sword

Sit. Good boy.

BENT'S COMMENTS:
'A well drawn and huge game with a lot of different 'helpers' and swords. Sounds like fun? Somehow it isn't. After a few floors you realize how much of the tower is left to do and how much time you're going to spend doing the same thing over and over again.'

Mega Twins

No, no...no no no no! Turn it off!

'You control this midget like kid (MIDGETS!), and kill these furry looking creatures with a cheap-ass sword. This is a kiddy game and not very fun. '

Mercs

Realistic War-Gaming Action!

'Good graphics. Solid gameplay. Guys with big guns. '

Muscle Bomber Duo (Saturday Night Slam Masters)

Yep, it's big sweaty men in skimpy undies.

Smegma and Hellbent won a local Slam Masters tournament by beating the crud out of all comers with Grater and Jumbo. We won free tshirts (which we gave away) and copies of SF2 for the SNES. Booya!

Oh, the beauty of 4-player wrestling carnage.

BENT'S COMMENTS:
'I don't care how many panty-wearing celebrity wrestlers you throw into a game, or how many polygons they flex with...nothing touches the gameplay of this one. I spent so many hours at the arcade dominating this machine, it quickly became one of my all-time favorites. Plus, Grater's the man. I'm waiting to see these guys in future Capcom fighting games.'

Nemo

The wonders of LSD. Oh yeah.

'This is more of a kiddie game. You are Nemo, the dream master, a kid in pajamas, fighting weird enemies like mini blimps (toys) etc. You are armed with some sort magical wand I believe..'

The Punisher

I remember seeing a Punisher cover where he was beating up a crack ho. I like this guy.

The Punisher demonstrates how to take out a whole mob with one kick.

'This game is similiar to C&D and Final Fight, except that the main character is Punisher. This game has some cool enemies & bosses and provides some good animated violence with the right weapons.'

Quiz and Dragons

Answer the Brady Bunch trivia or my minions of the 7th legion of Hell will flay you alive, wench!

'Damn! What was CAPCOM thinking? Not quite a video game but more of a learning game I suppose. You have to answer a series of queestions, and you pick your answer from the 4 that are available. It's good if you likre trivia or Jeopardy I guess. I mean to be quite honest, I would much rather sit on my couch and watch 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?'

Street Fighter 2

Pretty plain selection screen compared to the new SF games huh? 8 characters! Woo!

Back when the dragon punch meant something.

'The grand-daddy of all 2D fighting fighting games. This is the one that started it all. I still remember being a kid and walking into a jam packed convenience store, waiting hours just to play this game. You selected one of 8 fighters, fight your way through each one, then fight 3 bosses to get to the final boss(M. Bison). Ken & Ryu were the most popular characters in this game, and were known for their fireballs and dragon punches.'

Street Fighter 2 Turbo

Wooo...a total of 12 now and hideous colors! Take a good long look at that Sagat picture and then think about where Stumpy came from.

I think Chun Li was the biggest victim of the pause button in all of video game history.

'Same as SF2, but features re-designed boards, new colours, the ability to play as the bosses and some new moves.'

Strider

One of the strangest and innovative games we've seen.

'A guy with a big sword plows through a futuristic Russia. This game features some beautiful graphics, huge bosses, and the neatest sword-swiping noise around. '

UN Squadron

Ah, the gold old A-10. They say that ugly sucker can fly with one wing missing.

Shrimp on the Bar-b-Q

'MIDGETS!! MWAHhahaha!!! Yes you are a little midget in this game, and kill a variety of enemies and bosses to collect coins. Throughout the game you met up with other midgets and old geezers (Elves or wizards are what they are called i think LOL!).'

Warriors of Fate

Big guy on little horse! Hahaha!

'This game is quite different. It's a side scroller where you are a warrior on a horse equipped with a sword. You can get off the horse to fight on foot if you wish. Not one of the best CAPCOM games out there for sure.'
